Hello boards of directors for Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware,Walmart, and Target!
We’re Nathaniel and William, the caretakers of Josecíto the Tortoise through our in-home sitting business, Pet Care N Services, based in Palm Springs, CA. Josecíto, our first Mojave desert tortoise, adopted us on Good Friday weekend 2024 and sparked a mission within us: rescue and preserve the Mojave desert tortoises while ensuring everyone is aware of these amazing creatures. Our website has much information we’d encourage you to review, but we also reach out with an ask to help expand that information availability!
This spring, we’re adopting two additional tortoises whose caretakers are moving out of California. Rather than abandon these tortoises to the wild, where they should NEVER be returned, or left at a shelter where they are already overburdened, we have agreed to take them. However, to give them safe homes, we must expand our current backyard sanctuary where Josecíto lives alone. That means
Sand, rocks, and weather resistant material to start burrows,
Bushes & cactuses to provide natural tortoise diet,
Cinder blocks to build separated enclosure habitats.
